The Shaperville massacre in South Africa in 1966, where the police killed around 69 people who were peacefully protesting against the APARTHEID country laws in South Africa. The aim of this commemoration is to reinforce the call to the international community to redouble efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination.....
freedom, equality, brotherhood, we repeat these words all the time without knowing how to achieve them. are we really free? is one equal to the other? Is there love between us? I have a lot of difficulty in answering these questions.
Everyone is entitled to all the
rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without
distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language,
religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
Furthermore, no distinction shall be made based on the political,
legal or international status of the country or territory of
which a person is a national, whether independent, a trusteeship, non-self-governing or
under any limitation of sovereignty. All human beings are born free
and equal in dignity and rights. They are
endowed with reason and conscience and
should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
